Taken in Colorado, December 2001. Heading out to take pictures in the woods, I was about to step off the bottom porch step when I saw these prints in the snow over the cement walkway. The paw prints are Buckaroo's (Dan's beloved Maine Coon Cat). The claw and wing prints, probably a Stellar Jay or Crow. I had a head full of Christmas carols, which probably prompted the brief daydream of them walking side by side into the yard together. But once it passed I hoped they had somehow missed each other and gone their separate ways in peace.
